The European Commission's Directorates Joint Research Centre (JRC) and Research & Innovation jointly organised the 3rd European Conference on Corporate R&D (CONCORD-2011) on 6th October 2011 at the premises of the Institute for Prospective Technological Studies (IPTS), Seville / Spain.
The discussion was focused on the dynamics of Europe's industrial structure and the growth of innovative firms. The main topics that were covered are grouped in these three main headlines:
- R&D and innovation: Sources and constraints at company level
- Industrial dynamics & the role of R&D and innovation for Europe's competitiveness
- New avenues for policy and for management practices
We counted on the presence of Prof. Finn E. Kydland (Nobel laureate 2004) as keynote speaker. Moreover, the scientific committee was formed by recognized members of the scientific community. They evaluated the submitted abstracts and papers and agreed on a list of papers to be invited for presentation. In course of the Conference they acted as chairs and moderators.
